Streaming radio service Pandora has announced that they have been activated in over 2.5 million vehicles thus far. Pandora has been integrated with 23 car manufacturers and 8 third-party stereo brands. There are over one hundred million drivers across all of their markets in the United States, Australia, and New Zealand where Pandora is currently available.
Pandora announced this past April that they signed up over 200 million users in the United States. Half of these users were added in the past two years. Around 70 million of these users are monthly active listeners, which have hit around 1.5 billion listener hours combined.
In December 2010, Pandora started to support the Ford Sync AppLink technology through the Pandora for Android app. Pandora is now being supported by over 100 different car models including cars designed by Ford, Chevrolet, Suzuki, Toyota, Scion, Nissan, MINI, GMC, Honda, Hyundai, etc.
The company is now estimating that a third of all new cars sold in the U.S. will come with Pandora preinstalled. Pandora is going to partner with Dodge, Kia, Ram, Jeep, and Infiniti for the first time soon. Pandora is going to be launching an HTML5 version of their service so that it can be used in TVs and video game consoles.
