Parrot Asteroid Brings Android Head Unit To Your Car

Audio accessories company Parrot announced the Asteroid at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The Asteroid is a CD drive-less radio that uses a customized version of the Google Android operating system. The Asteroid has three USB ports in the rear for people to plug in USB thumb drives full of music and one of them has is reserved for a USB 3G dongle to download new applications that are approved for the head unit. Some of the built in applications include Google Maps, an Internet radio streaming app, a radar trap warning application, and a fuel price watcher. [Electronista]
