HTC has filed a lawsuit against Apple to seek the halt of U.S. imports and sales of Mac computers, iPods, iPhones, iPads, and other Apple devices because of alleged patent infringement. The lawsuit was filed with the U.S. ITC and the U.S. District Court in Delaware.

HTC’s patents relate to WiFi capabilities along with other functions and were obtained in 2008 and 2010. HTC is seeking compensatory damages and triple damages for willful infringement.

This lawsuit possibly will leave to a settlement between Apple and HTC. Over the last 2 years, Apple filed several patent lawsuits against HTC in Delaware. HTC has brought three cases against Apple before the ITC.

“We are taking this action against Apple to protect our intellectual property, our industry partners, and most importantly our customers that use HTC phones,” stated HTC General Counsel Grace Lei. The Delaware case was filed as HTC Corp v. Apple Inc, U.S. District Court, District of Delaware, No. 11-00715.
