On Saturday, vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan stopped by a soup kitchen in Youngstown, Ohio. Around the time that he arrived, the food had already been served and the dishes were already done. Apparently Paul Ryan had washed them again as part of a photo-op. Ryan was there for around 15 minutes total.
Unfortunately for the soup kitchen, the photos have become such a controversy and they depend entirely on funding from the government. People are wondering whether the soup kitchen swings more to the left or to the right. Republicans believe that the soup kitchen is swinging left so a lot of them vowed to stop providing funding for the soup kitchen. Below is one of those photos.
Brian J. Antal, the president of the Ohio charity that runs the kitchen” said that Ryan and his committee “did not have permission” to stage the photo opportunity. Mr. Antal also said that the charity does not pick sides when it comes to politics. “If this was the Democrats, I’d have the same exact problem,” said Antal in an interview with The Washington Post.
