Peek Is An Excursion Planning Company That Has Raised $1.4 Million

Peek is a company that helps you plan trips when you are visiting places in California and Hawaii.  Peek is a website that has helpful suggestions about what things to do in a foreign city and the ability to plan and book events.  According to Peek founder Ruzwana Bashir, over 80% of travelers research online before going to a destination but only 20% of activities are booked online.  This is because most vendors do not have online campaigns.

Peek grabs information about tons of activities that are available for travelers, free and paid.  They work with local vendors to allow users to book various activities directly through the website.  This includes activities like swimming with dolphins.  Peek has curated tips from celebrities like Piers Morgan, Timothy Hollingsworth, and Tory Burch as well.

Even though Peek is just focusing on Hawaii and California right now, they will expand to Mexico and the Northeast next.  Peek has raised $1.4 million in funding from Jack Dorsey (Twitter co-founder), Innovation Endeavors (Eric Schmidt’s VC company), SV Angel, and Khosla Ventures.  Bashir co-founded the company with Oskar Bruening.
