New Relic is an application performance management (APM) company that has raised $115 million in funding from several investors. New Relic has 300 employees and 50,000 customers including ESPN, Comcast, Groupon, and Airbnb. New Relic captures 125 billion metrics on a daily basis on the performance of about 1.4 million applications. New Relic is nearing profitability and they have just hired Silicon Valley veteran Peter Currie.
Currie has experience in taking companies public. He was the chief financial officer of Netscape Communications when the company went public on August 9, 1995. After leaving Netscape, he became a partner and co-founder of early-stage venture capital firm Barksdale Group. Currie is also on the board of directors at Twitter and worked temporarily as the CFO of Facebook before the company went public.
Currie was previously the CFO of McCaw Cellular Communications. He also worked at Morgan Stanley and General Atlantic.
