Pinterest, a social network that promotes content sharing through the use of virtual pinboards, announced a couple new features over the weekend. Pinterest has launched Pins with more information about various subjects like products, recipes, and movies. Another feature that Pinterest launched is a “Pin It” button across 9 mobile apps.
“From your feed, you can tell when a pin has more information by the icon that appears below the picture. We?ll also update all of your old pins so they?re more useful, too. For an example, check out this board or just pin from any of these popular places,” wrote Pinterest in a blog post.
The more useful Pins are being added to channels controlled by websites like eBay, Etsy, Target, Sony, Home Depot, Nordstroms, Sephora, Netflix, Flixster, Rotten Tomatoes, MyRecipes, etc.
There are several companies that will be integrating a Pinterest share button in their mobile apps. These companies include TED, The North Face, Behance, Modcloth, Etsy, Snapguide, Fotopedia, Jetsetter, and Zulily. Thew new pins are currently only available in the new Pinterest look. To enable the new Pinterest look, go to your account and click on the Get it now button on top of the home feed.
