Polaroid is working with Socialmatic to sell an instant-printing camera inspired by Instagram. The Polaroid Socialmatic camera will cost $299 when it arrives next year. Polaroid Socialmatic focuses on the sharing of photography online along with a printed version of the photo.
The Polaroid Socialmatic has a Zink Instant Printer on the side to work similarly to the old Polaroid cameras. The Polaroid Socialmatic has a 14-megapixel sensor and a 2-megapixel rear facing camera to take photos of yourself. It has an LED flash instead of Xenon and has a small LCD panel on the front of the camera. The LCD panel on the front has a mood assistant feature, which shows emoticons to indicate the mood of Socialmatic like if the climate is overcast.
Other specs of the Polaroid Socialmatic includes GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, 4G of internal storage, and an SD card slot to expand storage. The rear display of the Polaroid Socialmatic is 4.3 inches and stereo speakers are built in for video playback.
There are dedicated Socialmatic instant filters that will be pre-installed and can be applied to photos. You can also print pictures sent to you from another Polaroid Socialmatic camera.
