San Francisco based Practice Fusion is an electronic health records company that has acquired a mobile health startup company called 100Plus. 100Plus is a personal health prediction startup company.
100Plus was founded in 2011 and combines analytics and game mechanics for people to engage in healthy activities. 100Plus is a five-person team that will be joining Practice Fusion’s product development team. 100Plus co-founder Chris Hogg will become the associate VP of data science.
Practice Fusion CEO Ryan Howard is also a co-founder of 100Plus. He said that he met Hogg a couple years ago when Practice Fusion challenged around 50 teams to hack anonymized patient records in order to come up with useful applications.
?We?ll be launching other consumer apps and we see 100Plus as dovetailing beautifully with that,? stated Howard. The 100Plus app will continue to exist in the current form. They do not know if the 100Plus app will be a standalone app or be part of the Practice Fusion umbrella.
Howard said that 100Plus has seen impressive outcomes in a pilot with a large system. They raised $1.25 million from Greylock Partners, Felicis Ventures, Band of Angels, and Founders Fund.
