After some long delays due to a camera shortage, the HTC One is now available for pre-order. The phone will be available on AT&T starting April 19th with pre-orders starting on April 4th. The HTC One will cost $199.99 with a two-year agreement for the 32GB version. The 64GB version of the phone costs $299.99 with a two-year contract. Pre-orders for the HTC One will start at exactly 1PM Central Time on April 4th.
Based on these dates, the HTC One will hit the market before the Samsung Galaxy S4. The S4 pre-orders start on April 16th for AT&T customers. Samsung did not reveal when the device would actually ship.
HTC intended to launch the One across North America by the end of March. Although the early reviews of the HTC One have been positive, the company faces an up-hill battle against large rivals like Samsung and Apple.
As a refresher: The HTC One is powered by the Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2 operating system. The display of the phone is 4.7-inch 1080p Super LCD 3 display (468 dpi). It is protected with Gorilla Glass 2. The HTC One has a Qualcomm quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor clocked at 1.7GHz with 2GB of RAM. The camera on the phone is uses UltraPixels instead of megapixels.
