Profitero is a software-as-a-service provider of online insights and an e-commerce intelligence platform for retailers and brands. The company has raised $8 million in funding from Polaris Partners. Profitero will be using the funding to double its engineering team to 40 people and to expand its presence in North America. Some of Profitero’s customers include Staples, Sam’s Club, and Ocado. It monitors over 220 million prices in near real-time.
