Earlier this week, we reported that Sony has unveiled a new PlayStation virtual reality headset called Project Morpheus. There wasn’t a lot of details available at the time, but now we know more. The current version of Project Morpheus is a prototype and is not the final hardware. The prototype has a 1920 x 1080 pixel display and a 90-degree field of view. It also has accelerometer and gyroscopic sensors and supports the PlayStation Camera simultaneous with the DualShock 4 or PS Move controllers. Project Morpheus has Sony’s new 3D audio technology that is capable of omnidirectional sound. Sony has been working on Project Morpheus over the past three years.
