Qualcomm, Inc. (NASDAQ:QCOM) has named Clark Randt to their board of directors. Randt was the former Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China (2001-2009). Randt has worked as a diplomat, attorney, and businessman over the last 30 years. Randt has comprehensive knowledge of various industries and businesses in China. Randt is currently the president of Randt & Company LLC.
“We are fortunate to welcome Ambassador Randt as a member of Qualcomm’s Board of Directors,” stated Qualcomm chairman and chief executive officer Dr. Paul Jacobs. “As China remains a key emerging region, his extensive background in working with China’s government and businesses will provide invaluable insight to Qualcomm’s board as we look to further expand the Company’s footprint in the country’s rapidly growing and evolving wireless ecosystem.”
Aside from working as an Ambassador to China, Randt also worked as the First Secretary and Commercial Attaché at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing, the China representative of the National Council for United States-China Trade, and he worked in the U.S. Air Force Security Service.
