Queen of England Records Her First 3D Christmas Message

The Queen of England has recorded her first birthday message on Friday at Buckingham Palace.  This is the first time that a member of the royal family has been filmed using the technology.  Prince William declined to use 3D technology during his wedding to Kate Middleton last year.

Queen Elizabeth’s Christmas message is part of an annual tradition that dates back to her grandfather George V, who had delivered a radio broadcast written by Rudyard Kipling in 1932.  Queen Elizabeth started recording the messages in 1952 with her first Christmas radio messages.  From there she moved on to TV in 1957.  Earlier this year Queen Elizabeth did a James Bond sequence with Daniel Craig.

The Queen’s 3D message will focus on the Diamond Jubilee and the Olympics.  Below is last year’s message:
