Quora has launched Verified Profiles, starting with President Barack Obama. President Obama used Quora to answer two Affordable Care Act questions as part of an effort to drive signups before the deadline on March 31st. Other verified users on Quora includes Reed Hastings (Netflix CEO), Sheryl Sandberg (Facebook COO), and Ashton Kutcher (actor/investor).

Quora has raised over $70 million in funding from investors like Benchmark Capital, SV Angel, Matrix Partners, North Bridge Venture Partners, Keith Rabois, Peter Thiel, and Adam D’Angelo. Verified users will not have any additional functionality except for a blue check mark next to their questions, answers, and comments.

President Obama has been promoting the Affordable Care Act on the web to promote the deadline for coverage. The Obama administration launched the #GeeksGetCovered campaign and the President went on Zach Galifianakis’ comedy program “Between Two Ferns.” President Obama also went on Reddit to do an “Ask Me Anything” last year.
