Kelly Price is an R&B and soul singer that started her professional career when singing with George Michael at Madison Square Garden in January 1992. She appeared on hit singles like Mariah Carey’s “Fantasy,” Notorious BIG’s “Mo Money Mo Problems,” and Whitney Houston’s “Heartbreak Hotel.” Price was nominated for a Grammy 7 times as a result of her career. Now she has joined the “Yefon” team as a producer, film scorer, and soundtrack recorder.
Yefon is a socially conscious film that focuses on Africa. This film has has attracted the attention of Hollywood stars like Jimmy Jean-Louise (?Tears of the Sun? ?Heroes?), Adriana Barraza (Best Supporting Actress Oscar nominee, ?Babel?) and Hakeem Kae-Kazim (?Hotel Rwanda?). This film is being co-produced by Justin Massion (director of the Kickstarter campaign “Space Command”).
Yefon was created by 22-year-old actress and filmmaker Sahndra Fon Dufe, who gained inspiration from other similar stories from Africa. She was heart-broken by the sad reality of the situation. They plan to use a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the film. There is about 16 days left to go on this campaign. Currently they have 88 backers, $3,000 raised out of a $50,000 goal, and 16 days to go.
