Real Estate Agent Search Engine HomeLight Raises $1.5 Million In Seed Funding

Posted Nov 17, 2012

HomeLight is a San Francisco-based startup that launched this past week.  The start up helps take the pain out of homebuyers dealing with real estate agents and home sellers.  Drew Uher co-founded the company after having some bad experiences with real estate agents himself.

The startup provides personalized recommendations for buyers and sellers by looking through transactional and licensing records from over 2 million real estate agents.

HomeLight has a search engine that lets you filter real estate agents based on city, specific neighborhoods, price range, and expertise.  This makes it easier for homebuyers to find the right agent.

HomeLight is now live in 34 US markets including San Francisco, Seattle, Denver, Los Angeles, Dallas, Washington DC, and Boston.  HomeLight has raised $1.5 million in seed funding from Google Ventures, Crosslink Capital, Innovation Endeavors, and other private angel investors.

The company will use the funding to expand into other US markets.  They will also use some of the funds for hiring and marketing purposes.
