If you record a police officer doing something questionable, then you could have some problems of your own. In Illinois, a sixty-year old Chicago artist named Christopher Drew is facing an eavesdropping charge for recording his arrest. He was arrested for “selling art without a permit” and could do 15 years for recording the arrest. Tiawanda Moore is another example. Moore is a 20 year old former stripper who recorded a conversation that she had with a police officer. Investigators tried to talk her out of filing a complaint against the officer saying that they would guarantee that she would not be bothered again.
