Research In Motion is preparing to layoff thousands of people. The company is seeing some of their top senior managers leave the company such as global sales chief Patrick Spence. RIM will lay off at least 2,000 jobs across their worldwide operations as part of a global restructuring initiatives.
Sales of RIM’s signature BlackBerry phones have slipped ever since iPhone and Android devices have been introduced. This would be RIM’s second downsizing in a year.
The layoffs are expected to happen on June 1st, which is one day before the company’s first quarter ending.
