Rover.com has raised $3.5 million in funding from a group of investors.  The lead investor was pet retailer company Petco.  Rover.com also signed an exclusive partnership with Petco to promote their services on its website and in all of their stores.  Rover.com is known as the “Airbnb for dogs.”

Rover.com has raised a total of $14.15 million in funding.  Prior investors that participated in this round include the Foundry Group, CrunchFund, and Madrona Venture Group.

According to TheNextWeb, Rover.com is used by over 150,000 users and they have around 25,000 approved dog sitters across 4,300 cities.  Finding a reliable and safe dog sitter can be tough for many dog owners.  Rover.com helps circumvent that issue.

?This partnership will help accelerate our growth over time amongst this growing customer segment,? stated Rover.com chief executive officer Aaron Easterly.  Rover.com competes against DogVacay.
