Apple Inc. is in talks with EPIX to stream movies on their upcoming iTV product. EPIX is backed by three major movie studios. EPIX was created by Lions Gate Entertainment, MGM, and Paramount Pictures. Apple is expected to launch the TV product later this year or in early 2013.
Talks with EPIX is currently in preliminary stages and an agreement is still far frm happening. EPIX has a deal with Netflix, which pays $200 million a year for the rights to stream movies to its 23.4 million U.S. clients. EPIX is giving Netflix exclusive streaming rights through September. EPIX has movies like Rango, The Lincoln Lawyer, and Transformers Dark of the Moon.
