RUMOR: New iPhone Will Have 4.6-Inch Retina Display

Posted Mar 22, 2012

Rumor has it that the new Apple iPhone will have a 4.6-inch Retina Display. The source with also reported that the iPhone is expected to launch as early as “around the second quarter.” The South Korean Maeil Business Newspaper said that an unnamed industry source reportedly told them that Apple chose the larger display and already started ordering parts from suppliers.

LG and Samsung are most likely the suppliers for the two larger screens. Both of these companies have supplied the displays for Apple’s mobile products in the past. The new display would definitely be Retina Display. The current size of the Apple iPhone screen size is 3.5 inches.

The part I do not believe is the “second quarter” arrival because that would mean that the iPhone 5 would come out only 6-9 months after the iPhone 4S. The iPhone 5 is also believed to support 4G LTE and would come with a MDM9615 Qualcomm chip.
