Salesforce.com, Inc. (NYSE:CRM) has acquired cloudconnect, which is a startup founded by former Heroku and Salesforce.com executive Adam Gross. This acquisition has been announced right before Salesforce.com’s Dreamforce conference starts tomorrow.
“We are delighted to announce that cloudconnect is now part of Heroku, a salesforce.com company,” states cloudconnect on their homepage following the acquisition. “As part of Heroku, the cloudconnect team will continue to pursue its mission of helping companies create great apps and experiences by connecting their customer data.”
Last night, Salesforce.com submitted a press release about the new Heroku1 service. The Heroku1 platform-as-a-service was designed for Salesforce.com specifically to run and manage applications that can connect your business to customers.
Cloudconnect gives developers easy access to customer data and unifies CRM, social, and web data into a single database. Cloudconnect used to be a part of the Heavybit startup community that was created by Heroku co-founder James Lindenbaum.
