Salesforce.com announced back in June that they would be acquiring Buddy Media for $689 million in cash and equity. That deal has been closed yesterday. “Social media has caused the biggest transformation in marketing since the Mad Men era, causing CMOs to completely re-think their strategies. By bringing together market leaders Radian6 and Buddy Media, we are doubling down on the Salesforce Marketing Cloud to provide CMOs with the ability to manage the entire social marketing lifecycle,” stated Salesforce.com’s Marcel LeBrun. Buddy Media was founded in 2007 and helps large companies maintain their social media presence on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Google+, and Google search.
