Salesforce.com, Inc. (NYSE:CRM) has added former U.S. Secretary of State and retired four-star general Colin Powell to its board of directors. Powell is now Salesforce.com’s 11th board member. Powell is also a director at Bloom Energy and is a strategic limited partner at venture capital company Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers.
Powell is best known for working as the Secretary of State under President George W. Bush from 2001 to 2005. He also served in the U.S. Army for 35 years. The appointment is effective as of March 13, 2014.
