Samsung announces 7-inch Galaxy W phablet, launching in South Korea first

Samsung Electronics has announced a new 7-inch smartphone today called the Samsung Galaxy W. This means that the Galaxy W has just about the same screen size as some of the smaller tablets on the market like the iPad mini. The Galaxy W has a 7-inch diagonal display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and an aspect ratio of 16:9. The W has multitasking features like multi-window and split screen. The W weighs only 245 grams, which is less than the iPad mini 2 weight of 314 grams.

The Galaxy W has a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, 8-megapixel rear camera, 3200mAh battery, and LTE-A connection. It runs on the Android 4.3 operating system. The Galaxy W will be launching in South Korea first for a price of 499,400 won or $490 with red, white, and black color options.

The image above that shows the proportion of the phone size to a person’s face looks very interesting. It would be tough to buy pants with pockets that can fit that huge thing in it without feeling uncomfortable.
