Samsung announces Galaxy Core Advance, Scan Stand, and Voice Label

Samsung Electronics has announced a new ultrasonic smartphone cover that will help visually impaired people and aid disabled people. The cover will be able to sense a person or object’s presence up to 6 feet away. The Galaxy Core Advance cover (above) sits on top of a smartphone and detects objects to help users navigate around unfamiliar areas. When getting closer to an obstacle, the cover vibrates.

Samsung also announced an Optical Scan Stand. The Scan Stand positions the Galaxy Core Advance to point directly at printed material. This triggers the device’s Optical Scan software to read text aloud.

Another product Samsung announced is called The Voice Label. The Voice Label lets users identify objects and take notes or voice labels to differentiate each object.

These new Samsung accessories are available now. The three devices are expected to be compatible with other Galaxy devices sometime in the future.
