Samsung Electronics has announced a new set of Chromebooks. In the Chromebook 2 series is an 11.6-inch and 13.3-inch model. Both of these laptops will use ARM-based Exynos 5 Octa chips (either 1.9GHz or 2.1GHz based on the model).
The Chromebooks will have a new design that replaces the shiny silver plastic on older Chromebooks with a faux leather look that is similar to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
The 13.3-inch version has a full HD LED display. The smaller laptop has a 1366×769 screen. The 13.3-inch version has an improved audio system with two 2W speakers and noise reduction array microphone. The batteries are expected to last for around 8.5 hours. The smaller model will be available in black and white and the larger version will be in a grayish color.
The suggested retail version of the Chromebook is $319.99 and the larger version will retail for around $400. Both of them will start selling in April.
