According to a report by the Korea Times, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (KRX:005930) is expected to surpass 10 million unit sales of the Galaxy S4.
“We are confident that we will pass more than 10 million sales of the S4 next week. It is selling much faster than the previous model S3,” stated Samsung Electronics co-CEO Shin Jong-kyun.
This would make the S4 the fastest selling smartphone that Samsung has sold in history. The S3 took 50 days to hit 10 million unit sales.
The S4 started selling on April 26th in Korea and April 27th in the United States. The reason for the rapid sales milestone is because of a large marketing push.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 was announced in New York City on March 14, 2013. Some of the most popular features include Air Gesture, Smart Stay, and Smart Scroll. The S4 also has a 13-megapixel back camera, and 5-inch 1080p display. The S4 has two major versions, one with a Snapdragon 600 and another with an Exynos 5 Octa processor. When the S4 launched late last month, it was made available on 327 networks worldwide and 155 countries.
