Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (KRX:005935) has reported that they have sold around 200 million Galaxy S smartphones to customers since 2010. Samsung CEO JK Shin thanked the 200 million customers around the world that have bought a Galaxy S device. This includes Samsung Galaxy S, Samsung Galaxy S II, Samsung Galaxy S III, Samsung Galaxy S4, and Mini versions of the devices.
Just as a comparison, Apple sold 421 million iPhones since 2007 as of November 2013. Samsung announced the 100 million Galaxy S smartphone milestone in January 2013. This means that it took around 100 million in slightly more than a year.
Today Samsung announced the Galaxy S5 with a 5.1-inch Full HD display, 16 megapixel camera, heart rate sensor, and fingerprint scanner.
