Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (KRX:005930) has announced a new smartphone with a curved OLED display called the Galaxy Round. The Galaxy Round is launching on SK Telecom in South Korea.
The Galaxy Round has a 5.7-inch 1080p screen, which is the same size as the Galaxy Note 3. The Round curves on the vertical axis in a way that is similar to Samsung OLED TVs.
As part of the phone launch, the Galaxy Round will have a feature called Round Interaction. You can see information like battery life, missed calls, and the date/time when you tilt the Round on a flat surface with the screen off.
The Galaxy Round has a 13-megapixel camera, weighs 154g, measures at 7.9mm thick, and has a 2800mAh battery. The Round runs on the Android 4.3 operating system.
Other specs includes 3GB of RAM and 2.3GHz quad-core processor. The Round will be released tomorrow in a Luxury Brown color and will retail for 1.09 million won (around $1,013).
