Samsung Electronics has announced the Galaxy S4 Active smartphone. The Active smartphone does wonders for the adventurous. The Galaxy S4 Active can withstand up to 30 minutes of submersion in up to 1 meter of water and it is rust-proof. There is a waterproof earphone connector and “aqua mode” for the camera to improve the quality of images and videos underwater.
You can use the Galaxy S4 Active with a glove and turn the LED flash into a flash light by pressing on the volume key for a few seconds. The S4 Active has an 8-megapixel camera, which is less than the 13-megapixel camera that the original S4 has. Likely the company had to make a few sacrifices to make the S4 Active withstand water.
The S4 Active has LTE compatibility, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 system-on-a-chip with four cores clocking at 1.9GHz, Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, a 5-inch 1920 x 1080 Super AMOLED display, 2GB of RAM, a 2,600 mAh battery, 16GB of storage, a microSD slot, NFC, Bluetooth, WiFi, and WiFi Direct.
