Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (KRX:005930) executives have met with Facebook CEO and co-founder Mark Zuckerberg to discuss the possibility of working with them on potential partnerships and ad deals. Zuckerberg and Samsung president Shin Jong Kyun also talked about the generalities of information technology. Zuckerberg met with Samsung’s executives at their Seocho office building in Seoul, South Korea.
Facebook launched a new user interface for Android called Facebook Home this past April. The first phone that came preinstalled with the Facebook Home user interface, the HTC First, did not sell very well. However, many Android users have downloaded Facebook Home directly from the Google Play store.
Zuckerberg also met with South Korea president Park Geun Hye to discuss ways to promote technology startups, according to Bloomberg. Zuckerberg supposedly told Park that he is planning to invest more in the South Korean economy and will be using Facebook as a platform for startups. Park also met with Microsoft chairman Bill Gates and Google CEO Larry Page this past April in South Korea.
