Seth Godin is known as being the author of several popular marketing books like “Purple Cow: Transform Your Business By Being Remarkable,” “Tribes,” and “All Marketers Are Liars.” Godin has decided to turn to Kickstarter to fund his new book. He launched a campaign on his book titled “The Icarus Deception” at 5:05AM ET and in less than 3 hours, he hit his funding goal of $40,000. By 9AM, he hit the $90,000 mark. Right now they are at over $130,000 and there are 28 days left.
Godin has been one of the biggest critics of traditional book publishing models. Since then he wrote two books as art of a joint imprint partnership with Amazon.com. On the Kickstarter page, Godin describes the Icaraus as a book about “the mythology of success (and failure) and how our economy rewards people who are willing to stand up and stand out. For too long, we’ve been seduced into believing we should do less. It’s time to redefine what we’re capable of.”
