BlackBerry announced today that they plan on adding the Skype application to their line-up of BlackBerry 10 devices, according to Reuters. Microsoft Corporation acquired Skype in May 2011 to allow users to communicate through chat, video, and voice. Currently Skype has hundreds of millions of users.
The BlackBerry Q10 smartphone is expected to arrive in Canada on May 1st and the U.S. by the end of May. The BlackBerry Q10 has a physical keyboard and is the second device that is powered by the new BlackBerry 10 operating system. Skype will be on the Q10 when it launches.
Owners of the BlackBerry Z10 will have to wait a few weeks before they can get Skype when BlackBerry upgrades their mobile operating system.
