Snapchat, the mobile application that lets users take photos or videos that self-destruct after a few seconds of your friend seeing them, is now hitting 400 million snaps every day. This is up from 350 million in September and 200 million in June.
Based on these numbers, Snapchat is actually hitting higher numbers than Instagram and Facebook. Facebook reportedly hits around 350 million photos uploaded per day with a user base of over 1 billion. Instagram hits around 50 million photos every day.
Snapchat’s numbers include photos and videos along with broadcast snaps. The Broadcast snaps are when a user takes a photo and sends it to multiple recipients.
Due to these high numbers, large tech companies made bids to acquire Snapchat. Facebook reportedly offered $3 billion and Google was rumored to have made a $4 billion offer.
