Snapchat is a real-time picture chatting application that has surged in popularity.  Snapchat is currently seeing around 150 million photos being sent back-and-forth on a daily basis.  This is three times the increase in four months according to Snapchat founder Evan Spiegel.  Spiegel revealed the milestone at the D: Dive Into Mobile conference today.

As a comparison, Instagram sees around 40 million photos being uploaded per day.  Snapchat recently raised $13.5 million in funding led by Benchmark Capital this past February.

Unfortunately, Stanford graduate Frank Brown is suing the co-founders of Snapchat because he claimed that the idea was his.
