Hello Vino has acquired Corkbin, an “Instagram for wine.” Corkbin users share photos of their wine purchases. Hello Vino has an install base of around 1.7 million users through iOS and Android apps.
“The acquisition of Corkbin allows Hello Vino to enhance the entire wine shopping experience,” stated Rick Breslin, CEO of Hello Vino. “While the Hello Vino app assists wine shoppers before they buy, the Corkbin app facilitates the tracking and sharing of their wine purchases.”
Hello Vino allows wineries to engage consumers at the point of purchase. Through the acquisition of Corkbin, wineries will be able to build relationships with people enjoying wine after the purchase. Corkbin founder Catherine Liao will be joining Hello Vino as Director of Special Projects.
