Sococo’s Team Space Lets Enterprises Set Up Virtual Offices

Sococo is a virtual office startup that launched back at DEMO Fall 2010.  The company raised $4.2 million in equity funding from undisclosed investors in January 2011.  Sococo’s Team Space service will allow co-workers to communicate using avatars.  Within Team Space, workers can enter virtual offices and conduct meetings with video and voice and screen shares.

Every individual user has their own office and conference rooms for larger meetings.  It doesn’t matter what part of the world you are in, it will make you feel like all of your talent is in one place.  Virtual worlds gives conference calls more personality too.  Around 8-10 person teams are the most common according to Sococo CEO and co-founder David Van Wie.  Sococo can accomodate teams with up to 32 offices.

Team Space Business costs $24.99 per user per month.  Team Space Enterprise costs $39.99 per user per month.  Team Space Enterprise has advanced services for organizations with up to 300,000 users.  Team Space Business has integrated communications and an intuitive spatial user interface.  Team Space Enterprise has custom security integration, virtual corporate campus navigation, and reporting & analytics.

Sococo used to be called Social Communications Company.  The company was founded in 2007.
