SolarCity Corp (NASDAQ:SCTY) continues to expand their operations by launching a new operations center in Delaware. SolarCity is expecting to hire around 12 people at the location in Delaware over the next few months. SolarCity previously had limited service in Maryland and New Jersey, but now the new location will be able to better service Delaware and the entire eastern shore of Maryland.
“SolarCity provides Delaware homeowners and businesses the option to reduce their utility bills, lock in their solar energy costs and do something positive for the environment at the same time,” stated Leon Keshishian, SolarCity’s regional vice president on the east coast. “We can give many Delaware customers the opportunity to save money from day one by using cheaper, cleaner solar electricity.”
SolarCity is expanding in Delaware due to the strong support of fair net metering policies and cost-effective renewable portfolio standards in the state. According to GTM Research’s US PV leaderboard, SolarCity provides one in every three U.S. residential solar electricity systems. Solarcity offers the design, installation, and sales or lease of solar energy systems.
