At the Google I/O conference, Google announced that come Android apps will be able to run on Google Chromebook laptops. When a user approaches his or her locked Chromebook while carrying a smartphone, the Chromebook can automatically unlock. And when the user’s phone battery is running low, a notification will appear on the Chromebook desktop.

The same thing will happen when a person gets an incoming phone call. Some Android mobile apps like Evernote and Flipboard will be able to run on Chromebooks too.

?Our goal is to bring [mobile apps] in a thoughtful manner to Chromebook,? said Sundar Pichai, Google?s senior vice president of Chrome and apps as quoted by Re/Code. ?We want them to work with as little modifications as possible.?
