Sonos, the popular wireless speaker company, has generated $535 million in 2013 revenue. This is 97% growth year-over-year. The Sonos Play-1 speaker that retails for $200 helped drive a lot of the sales growth after being introduced last year. Some retailers even struggled to keep the Play-1 in stock throughout the holiday season.
Sonos’ revenue increased tenfold since 2008. The company has around 200 patents that covers its systems and is compatible with iTunes, Pandora, and Spotify. Sonos has raised over $125 million from investors such as Index Ventures, e.ventures, Redpoint Ventures, Elevation Partners, and Kohlberg Kravis Roberts.
