Sony BRAVIA Smart TV Now Has YouTube HD, Facebook, and Twitter

Posted Nov 30, 2011

Sony has updated the interface of their BRAVIA smart TVs to support social networking and high-definition YouTube videos. The new BRAVIA firmware has support for Facebook galleries, messages, status updates, and links. There is a Twitter ticket that scrolls updates from your followers. YouTube has been on BRAVIA smart TVs, but the update now has HD support.

Sony has also released a Remote Keyboard Lite application for non-Sony laptops and it allows them to enter URLs in the Opera-based browser. You can search for streaming content and navigate through menus. You will need a Windows 7 computer though. The firmware update should be pushed out automatically to sets as long as it is connected to the Internet.
