Posted Nov 25, 2013

Sony Corporation has filed a patent for a “smart wig.”  The Sony SmartWig is a hairpiece that covers and hides some sensors, a control unit, and a communication interface.  The wig can act as a second computing device like a smartphone and receive feedback such as vibrations.  Sony also said that the wig could have a GPS sensor and the ability to use sound waves for detecting objects around it.  The wig could be made from horse hair, human hair, wool, feathers, buffalo hair, yak hair, or other synthetic materials.
