Sony Corporation has announced it has sold over 7 million PlayStation 4 consoles around the world as of April 6th. This is up from 6 million at the beginning of March and 4.2 million in January. This averages to around 1 million PlayStation 4 video game consoles being sold per month. The boost in March may have been due to the exclusive game launch of Infamous: Second Son.
?The response from the global gaming community for PS4 has been overwhelming and we are truly humbled that gamers are selecting PS4 as their next generation console of choice,? said Sony Computer Entertainment head Andrew House in a statement.
The PlayStation 4 launched in the U.S. on November 15th for a price of $400. The console is now sold in 78 countries and competes head-to-head with the Microsoft Xbox One.
