SpaceX releases video of rocket floating 3,280 feet and then smoothly landing again

The latest reusable rocket test by SpaceX was successful. SpaceX tested the Falcon 9 Reusable rocket earlier this week. It flew up to an altitude of 3,280 feet (1,000 meters) before safely landing it down to the grasslands in Texas. SpaceX filmed the event in the video above. SpaceX is working hard at developing technologies that can be reused many times for space travel, similar to how airplanes are reused for commercial travel. The Falcon 9-R tests are ongoing following the completion of its Grasshopper rocket program last year.
