Sprint Corporation (NYSE:S) has made a deal with Spotify in order to capitalize on the streaming music services. Sprint CEO Dan Hesse announced Sound Sessions, which offers premium access to live events and Spotify. Sprint is including access to Spotify’s service with its Framily Plan.
From May 9th onwards, all Framily customers will get a six-month trial of Spotify. After the trial is over, they will get Spotify at a discounted rate of $7.99 per month. For six to ten members, the rate drops to $4.99 per month. Spotify CEO Daniel Ek told the audience in New York that this is the biggest deal the music streaming service ever made.
“When I first met Dan, we didn’t talk about pricing plans, we talked about speakers and audio quality and Pharrell,” stated Ek. “That’s when I knew we had to partner with Sprint.”
The Spotify deal was announced in conjunction with the new version of the HTC One M8, which is called the HTC One M8 Harman/Kardon.
