Posted Sep 9, 2011

Sprint Nextel Corporation (NYSE:S) is expected to start offering the iPhone next month with an unlimited data service plan. Sprint plans to start selling the iPhone in mid-October through a deal with Apple. Sprint would become the only carrier that would offer the iPhone with unlimited data services going forward.

Sprint has been struggling against their rivals and heavily opposes AT&T’s acquisition of T-Mobile. Sprint lost money over the last 15 consecutive quarters. Sprint already offers unlimited data plans for their smartphones such as RIM BlackBerry devices and the HTC Evo. Sprint’s unlimited voice and data service costs $99.99.
