Sprint Nextel said that the next iPhone will have an unlimited data plan to set themselves apart from other telecommunications company. This is if the next iPhone arrives with LTE. Sprint will have a no-strings unlimited plan said Sprint CEO Dan Hesse in an interview with CNET.
“I’m not anticipating the unlimited plan would change by that point,” said Hesse. “That’s our distinctive differentiator.” The unlimited data plans has helped Sprint attract new customers.
Sprint recently reported first quarter results with a wider loss as a result of costs that are related to the shutting down of the Nextel network. They activated 1.5 million iPhones in the period with 44% coming from new customers. Sprint said that they do not know when Apple would release the next iPhone or when it would have LTE.
