Square is a mobile payments company that has acquired BookFresh. BookFresh is known for scheduling customer appointments for merchants. BookFresh is a self-serve platform for small businesses that need online scheduling services. BookFresh is considered an “OpenTable for everything but restaurants.”
Square is going to keep BookFresh running separately for now. BookFresh’s existing customers can continue using their services as normal.
This news comes on the heels that Square is now testing out a food ordering service, which would allow customers to pick up their orders from restaurants.
BookFresh investors include Ron Conway, SV Angel, Baseline Ventures and NBCUniversal. The terms of the deal were undisclosed.
